Who likes cleaning out their kitchen fridge? Well, okay, I kind of do, but it’s not so much that I enjoy cleaning my fridge. It’s more that I appreciate a clean fridge. (Which I did not currently have…) And nothing works better than this fridge cleaner recipe!
I save cleaning out my fridge for the same day that I do grocery shopping. Even though I know that might seem like an overwhelming task while putting away the groceries, it works well!
I tackle my fridge shelf by shelf. Growing up, my mom would always pull EVERYTHING out of the fridge, give it all a good clean, and then sort as she put things back. I don’t like doing it this way though because sometimes life catches me off guard and I don’t want to get pulled away with all my cold goods out on the counter.
We’ve been working at eliminating all unnecessary chemicals from our home. (Bleach wipes still make the odd appearance when the tummy flu comes around or when the cat decides to grace us with her last consumed entree…)
I found this great sounding recipe at One Good Thing By Jillee. You can clean and deodorize your fridge with just 3 ingredients: water, white vinegar, and lemon essential oil. I happened to have all 3 things on hand! I also found an empty spray bottle (Wonders will never cease!) Not as nice as the one Jillee had, I will definitely be checking out the Mason Jar company.
I followed Jillee’s instructions for mixing and cleaning and it worked really really well! I will definitely be using this recipe for my fridge cleaning again. My fridge is sparkling and lacks any odours except for the slight sweet scent of lemon. What more could a girl ask for!
Therefore, I highly recommend giving this recipe for fridge cleaner and deodorizer a try! It’ll be my go to from now on. To give this a try – check out Jillee’s recipe on her website.
And now I get to start the week with a fridge that has no old leftover, nothing expired, and it’s clean and organized. So, what’s the meal plan for the week? Stay tuned for my upcoming post on what we will be eating this week.
